Overview
Brandon Turner & BetterLife are looking for an experienced financial analyst to handle the bookkeeping and finances of BetterLife and several other business entities owned by Brandon Turner. Our ideal candidate has past experience in creating budgets and forecasts, managing expenses, sending P&Ls, and ensuring a strong financial foundation for a newly formed company (BetterLife).
This position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience managing finances for several different business models such as a subscription business, personal real estate business, and even a real estate syndication. You’ll be joining an insanely talented and motivated team of A-players that are driving together to build a brand new but fast growing company. Additional Responsibilities
- Manage the books and finances of BetterLife - keeping track of every transaction that comes through the BetterLife account and categorizing them accordingly with the help of a virtual bookkeeping assistant
- Calculate and process ongoing donations for BetterLife
- General management of company expenses, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Maintaining the balance sheet for multiple entities
- Manage annual budget for BetterLife and prepare monthly financials slides with forecasts for review
- Work directly under the Vice President of Corporate Finance & Administration at Open Door Capital to assist with the management of 2-3 business entities owned by Brandon Turner
- Assist with tax and filing responsibilities across multiple businesses, including annual 1099 processing and vendor relationship management
- Organize and manage the forecast/budget for multiple properties in Brandon’s personal real estate portfolio
- Prepare and present monthly financials for BetterLife, Open Door Capital, and other ancillary businesses to provide an overview of company performance
- Assist with human resources such as processing salary/payroll, establishing employee benefits, onboarding with human resources software and similar HR responsibilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required
- 4+ years of professional experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping or a similar field
- Advanced analytical and Excel skills and ability to work with large sets of data
- Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and principles
- Hands on experience with QuickBooks or other expense management, forecasting, or budgeting software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial planning/modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Great “story-teller” with the ability to communicate complex financials simply
- Real estate accounting experience is a bonus
- Experience managing financials for many different business models is a bonus
